Have you considered recording family stories for future generations or have family stories and want to share them? Sara Cochran will present “Grandma Said What? Gathering and Verifying Your Family’s Oral History” for the St. Cloud Area Genealogists online on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Stearns History Museum (235 33rd Ave S., St. Cloud). The presentation will be available remotely and will be recorded for members of SCAG and registered guests. Attendees will define oral history, talk about strategies to conduct family interviews and experience the process of verifying a family story.
Sara Cochran is a full-time professional genealogist with more than 30 years of research experience. Her research has taken her to nearly every state and Ireland. She especially enjoys breaking down brick walls, discovering the stories of black sheep ancestors and helping individuals preserve their photographic legacy. Cochran holds a Boston University Genealogical Research Certificate, a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science and is an alumna of the ProGen Study Group.
