Minnesota 13: From Grain to Glass is a documentary film that delves into the clandestine history of moonshine production in Stearns County, Minnesota, during the Prohibition era. Directed by Kelly Nathe and Norah Shapiro, the film explores how local farmers, many of whom were German and Polish Catholics, turned to distilling as a means of survival during the Great Depression. The resulting product, known as "Minnesota 13," gained a reputation for its high quality and was even sought after by organized crime figures from Chicago and Kansas City .
