It is operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and is the largest genealogy organization in the world. FamilySearch.org is a free website that offers world-wide access to digitized records from all over the world. It is also the home of the FamilySearch Family Tree, which is a collaborative, ever-changing, family tree.
FamilySearch Center Locator
Minnesota is home to 20 Family History Centers maintained by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. There are also a number of affiliate libraries throughout the state, including the Hoffman Research Library and Great River Regional Library. A major benefit of being an affiliate library is access to additional digital records not available outside a family history center or an affiliate library. These digital records include images and names indexes.

St. Cloud Area Genealogists (SCAGS) provides a wealth of resources to help you discover ways to bring your family history to life. Click on the SCAG Projects category to view the indexes and projects developed by our members over the years.

While our resources are limited, we encourage you to check out Cyndi's List for a comprehensive, categorized list of links to genealogical research sites. If you have ancestors from this area, you may want to visit the specific county or Minnesota categories.
